Music Editorial: The 2013 MTV Video Music Awards

A lot of you don't know that I also critique music, just not as often as movies. So like any music fan, I was intrested by the awards show but never planned on watching it. MTV Award shows are usually awards given to people or media that's popular or trending at the time. But this one was getting a lot of buzz for the performers. Robin Thicke and Miley Cyrus were scheduled to perform and boy, did they.

The show got off to an amazing start. Lady Gaga came out, started the show with a performance of her son Applause. It is an excellent song and a wonderful performance. Then they presented an award which was fine with me. Then it went way downhill, way too fast.

Miley Cyrus came out to perform a live version of the awful song We Can't Stop. She came out and my jaw dropped. This was the most awful, apalling, deplorable, ugliest and overall, saddest performance I have seen. Robin Thicke comes out to perform Blurred Lines. Cyrus then strips down to a bra and thong, grabs a foam finger and starts rubbing and grinding on Thicke's crotch. I can't tell you what else happened because I shut it off right after that.

In case you missed the awards, here they are.
-Video Of The Year: Mirrors by Justin Timberlake
-Best Male Video: Locked Out Of Heaven by Bruno Mars
-Best Female Video: I Knew You Were Trouble by Taylor Swift
-Artist To Watch: Austin Mahone

Overall If they had more performances like Lady Gaga, I would tune in more often. Other than that, I don't lie them.
