Kick-Ass 2 is a wonderful film. It 100% lives up to the first one. Now I want to call to attention 2 things before we start. First is a review of the film I read on Rogerebert.com. Ali Arakin reviewed the film and gave it Zero Stars out of Four. But that's not what angered me. What bothered me is that the reviewer outright said that whoever enjoyed the movie has horrid taste in cinema and insulting us for having questionable mentality and morals. Also this person misinterprets a lot of the film, the biggest misinterpretation is that the reviewer stated that there is a rape scene played for laughs. It is an attempted rape scene, it doesn't happen and is played for laughs at the rapists expense. This site should have someone else examine the film.

The second thing. You see this man to my left here? He goes by the name of Jim Carrey. Of course you all know him. On June 24th of this year, he announced that he was not doing press for the film due to the level of the violence, stating The Sandy Hook elementary shooting as an example. This is absolutely ridiculous as he is a huge fan of the Graphic novels and the first film. Chloe Grace Moretz responded saying that she's 15 and doesn't imitate anything from these type of movies, and she was 11 when the first one happened. This is all just absolutely ridiculous, Which is ironic because he is one of the best performances of the film.

Dave Lizewski(Aaron Taylor-Johnson) is a senior in high school with Mindy being a freshman, both of them trying to have a normal life. Hit-Girl actually cuts school to train in case combat arises. Her guardian(Morris Chestnut) wants her to just have a normal life. That proves to be complicated as Chris D'Amico(Christopher Mintz-Plasse) has become the first Super-Villain in order to get revenge for his fathers death at the end of the first one. His name: The Motherfucker. Chris isn't playing around anymore and goes down a very dark road, and doesn't plan on coming back.

The film is really gorgeous to look at, with stunning choreography and fun fight scenes. The shaky-cam that everyone complains about is not noticeable. The violence is really balls to the wall, more than the first. The movie is really tonally off, but does work. It feels like 3 movies, a High school movie, a comic-book movie and a disturbing thriller. The mean girls subplot worked into the film is nothing that really interfered with the film. Hit-Girl deals with a bunch of mean girls, but they have to realize that you never mess with a girl who stabs, shoots and maims people. There comeuppance is sweet and gross, I won't give it away, but it involves vomit and diarrhea.

Kick-Ass now realizes that he can get killed and with Chris hot on his trail. Now The Motherfucker is brutally sadistic. There is a scene where he goes to a woman's house. The house belongs to Justice Forever member, Night-Bitch. The Motherfucker attempts to rape her but can't because he "Can't perform" and decides to just beat her up. One part of Chris's crew, The Toxic Mega-Cunts, named Mother Russia, kills ten cops in a row(two involving a lawnmower). But when it comes to killing dogs, He's "Not that evil".

Hit-Girl steals the show as always, But Jim Carrey as Colnel Stars And Stripes was great. There was a fantastic scene involving a van with Hit-Girl shooting her way through the van. The Level of violence may concern some but it didn't matter to me because the first on was also violent. This is the way these movies should be made. They shouldn't take chances.

The movie has received very mixed reviews but I enjoyed it immensely. I can't wait for the day when Kick-Ass 3 comes out. There is a post-credits scene that's worth sticking around for. Beautiful Performances, choreography, cinematography, violence and writing. Extremely funny with lines, one of my favorites comes when The Motherfucker shoots up a convenience store "What a rush! I have to Tweet About this!"

This was the best film of the summer, and it's the best film of the year so far. Please do not let this one pass you by. It deserves all the dollars and cents it can earn.  The film earns my highest grade. I so can't wait for the 3rd film. It's going to be Kick-Ass!
