Is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows Worth Seeing in IMAX 3D?

COWABUNGA DUDES! And welcome to Is It Worth Seeing in IMAX? This time, we tackle Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. Grab your pizza and see if this movie is worth seeing in IMAX 3D!

IS IT ANY GOOD? It's meh. I preferred the first one in comparison to this one. There are things that I liked (especially the plane jump setpiece was incredible), but a lot of things that I didn't like. For example, ALL OF THE VILLAINS OF THIS MOVIE SUCKS! EVERY ONE OF THEM! From Tyler Perry's overacting to Krang who shows up for 15 minutes in the movie, ALL OF THEM ARE UNDERWHELMING! And don't get me started on Bebop and Rocksteady! But, as a whole, it's a watchable movie, not as good as the first one.

Movie: 3/5

PICTURE QUALITY: The movie looks visually STUNNING! The special effects are INCREDIBLE! To see this in IMAX makes the movie even BETTER! The film was catered for IMAX right from the get go! The cinematography is amazing and you can see EVERY DETAIL in the actor's face or the turtle's face! Camera movements also bring you closer to the movie like when they're spinning around.

SCORE: 5/5

SOUND QUALITY: The sound quality is VERY GOOD! The last act of the movie was really enhanced by the sound. Loud moments are loud and quiet moments are quiet, all perfectly balanced. My personal favorite sound scene was the knicks game. You could hear the crowd cheering and it felt like you were there.

SCORE: 5/5

3D QUALITY: The 3D is a mixed bag on this one. The 3D is great when it's the turtles scene (especially during the final act) but when it's the human characters, the 3D isn't great. It's flat and looks post-converted. But for those turtles scenes, I'm going to give the 3D a pass.

SCORE: 4/5

OVERALL: SEE IT IN IMAX! This is a great movie to bring the kids! KIDS WILL BE AMAZED BY HOW IMMERSIVE IMAX IS! One kid flipped and was wowed when the IMAX intro showed up!

OVERALL SCORE: 4/5
