Is Terminator: Genisys Worth Seeing In IMAX 3D?

Greetings folks!

I just got out of the 1:55pm IMAX 3D showing of Terminator: Genisys. Because of my ongoing obsession with IMAX, I wanted to transmit my feelings about the IMAX experience itself because I want YOU GUYS to save your money! As I see LITTERALY EVERYTHING IN IMAX, I will now start the writing series "Is_____________worth seeing in IMAX (or IMAX 3D)?"

Today's movie is TERMINATOR GENISYS

MOVIE: The movie isn't the most spectacular blockbuster in the universe, but as a whole, I enjoyed it. I love that Arnold is back as the T-800. He was the best part of the movie. The action scenes and special effects are great. But the acting falls flat. Jai Courtney ISN'T Kyle Reese, Emilia Clarke ISN'T Sarah Connor, Jason Clarke IS MOST CERTAINLY NOT John Connor and Byung-Hun Lee IS ABSOLUTELY NOT the T-1000. Matt Smith was WASTED but J.K. Simmons was great.

It does get confusing (especially during the middle act) but it's a fun time at the movies for sure.

MOVIE SCORE: 3/5 stars

PICTURE QUALITY:  The film is presented in its original 2:40:1 aspect ratio. Black bars will appear on top and bottom of the screen if you are seeing it in IMAX. The film looks like it was shot on 35mm film. But yet again, I am not sure. The film was shot in 2D but was converted in 3D afterwards. The picture quality is fine, but not great. Not INTERSTELLAR good. The uses of lens flares does not help as well. But it's fine for the most part. But not IMAX's best.

PICTURE SCORE: 3/5 stars

SOUND QUALITY: IMAX's exclusive sound system really enhances the viewing experience. When it's calibrated and designed perfectly, it can be an amazing experience and the result is unparalleled. And it is. The sound is absolutely FANTASTIC. It really is the best part of the IMAX experience. The sound design is great and really enhances the action scenes. The sound is fantastic during the louder moments and the quiter moments.

SOUND SCORE: 5/5 stars

3D QUALITY: Oh boy. We all know that IMAX 3D is WAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than regular 3D. But the post-converted 3D SUCKS. It brings no depth what-so-ever. There are a couple of moments where the 3D is used properly but that is very rare. There is only 1 seen where I said "Wow". But overall, the 3D isn't good.

BONUS: If you're seeing TERMINATOR: GENISYS in IMAX, you will have a 5 MINUTE IMAX EXCLUSIVE SNEEK PEAK OF MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE ROGUE NATION. And the footage is AWESOME!

OVERALL: I wouldn't recommend seeing Terminator: Genisys in IMAX, let alone in 3D. It doesn't add anything to the movie so I wouldn't see why you should pay 19,99$ to see it in IMAX.
