Look let me get to the point, most people were disappointed of the hobbit 1 and I enjoyed it. But I think that Desolation of Smaug is the best movie of the year.
Why? There is one key scene that will prove you the imagination of Peter Jackson. The scene with a bunch of barrels like a flume ride. It's fuckin awesome, you don't want it to end, for real!
I saw hobbit 1 in 24fps so I was curious of 48fps or HFR whatever you call it. I saw it in IMAX with the addition of HFR. For the first 10 minutes of the film I felt very sick and dizzy but you will get used to it. But HFR, is pure crap and I mean, pure crap. See it in 24fps.
The film looks amazing (if it weren't for that HFR)
Here are the pros and cons
PROS: Smaug (Benedict Cumberbatch steals the show), Evangeline Lily's body, looks visually stunning, the action is WAY better, badass kill by Orlando Bloom's legolas, GANDALF, The Necromancer, Barrels sequence, the cliffhanger, everything, except for one.
CONS: HFR (Just don't see it in HFR)
See it in IMAX, it feels more immersive (barrels)
