Casey: "I think we just circumsized JeffChang."

Seeing trailers for 21 & Over, I was afraid that it was going to be another Project X. Thankfully, The movie brings something fresh to this type of genre. The genre of "a-chinese-kid-who-just-turned-21-so-you-go-get-him-plastered-but-you're-screwed-because-not-only-do-you-not-know-where-he-lives-but-you-have-to-get-him-home-by-a-certain-time-so-he-can-get-ready-for-a-big-interview-for-the-next-morning-or-else-his-stern-father-will-go-apeshit." It goes down smoothly but has a bitter aftertaste.

Friends Miller and Casey travel to meet up with their longtime friend Jeffery Chang, whom they call JeffChang for short. It's Jeff's 21st birthday, so the guys take him out and get him wasted. However, the guys are screwed because they have no clue here he lives. Plus they have to get him home quickly for an interview in the morning. Wackiness and shenanigans ensue.

The movie runs rampant with sexual humor. With sights such as, breasts, men walking around with nothing but tube socks on their anatomy, butts, lots of them, and two people of the same sex makng out. Haven't we all seen this branch of tired humor, time and time before this movie came strolling through?

The movie is stuffed with too many subplots to handle. Filled with a mexican female fraternity, ferociously searching for the three men, A school bully named Randy(Hey, here's a fun drinking game.  Take a drink everytime someone says Randy in the film.) and a love intrest, Nicole, for Casey, that keeps stalling due to a wild series of misunderstandings(Spider-man anyone?)

However, Casey and Miller are actually made to be likeable protagonists, with Miller getting to utter most of the funny lines in the film, A sweet chemistry between Nicole and Casey and even an oddly effective backstory for JeffChang. 21 & Over brings nothing new to the table whatsoever, but is passable entertainment.
