Spice World The Spice Girls Movie (1997) Film Review

This Is An Intresting Film For A Man To Watch (**** Out Of ****)

Directed By: Bob Spiers
Rated PG For Some Vulgarity, Brief Nudity And Language
1hr 33min/93min.

A film like this is really hard to take seriously, esspecially if you're a man. It's tough to tell people that you are a fan of The Spice Girls. But with the recent crap people like to call music, I'm not ashamed. The Spice Girls are great. Their Music is really catchy and they can be really funny, but in a cheesy "leave-your-brain-at-the-door" sort of way. You can't watch this movie and expect it to be nominted for an Academy Award. It's a silly movie thats a lot of fun.

Now I never would have heard about this movie if it were not for Cinema Sickness. The way he praised this movie fascinated me. A 30-year-old adult male covered with Tattoos said that one of his favorite films was this. I'm Not making fun because I fell in love with this film. At first, many of the elements of the film just confused me like the aliens who are fans of The Spice Girls, but after giving this film a second watch, I've come to appreciate it more. Movies don't have to make sense. If they did then 99% of horror films would not exist.

The film follows the title characters as they are gearing up for a huge concert at The Royal Albert Hall in London, but get in some weird situations such as running into aliens, spending a night in a haunted house and having trouble with back-up dancers in ass-less chaps. All the while their friend is pregnant and is about to have her child right before the concert.

Are The Spice Girls good actresses? Well....No. Yet they are really funny as they make fun of themselves. In a surprising turnout, Meatloaf and Roger Moore have roles in the film. All we need now is Queen and everything will be perfect! This movie qualifies into the So-Bad-It's-Good catergory but this film doesn't belong because the film is all one big joke. I put films like The Room into that catergory.

This is a film that's kind of hard to find. What Sony needs to do is rerelease this film on Blu-Ray. I have a VHS copy of the film that's about to deteriorate. Is Spice World a film to watch. Yes, Yes, Yes! I highly recommendyou buy this movie. If I'm under a lot of stress, This is one of the films I go to. Watch it and you won't regret it.
