I did not like the first smurfs movie. It was dull, humorless but had nice animation in 3D. This on the other hand, is a marked improvement on the first one, but it still sucks.
PROS: Joyful animation: Every detail is here and it's beautiful, great 3D, smurf village looks STUNNING, some papa smurf Santa jokes, filmed in MONTREAL :)!!!!!!!, got a chance to see a little bit of the film because my uncle worked on this movie, Great cast (NPH, Brendan Gleeson, Hank Azaria), great post credit SCENES (During the mid credits, mid credits, post credits), suave look.
CONS: Plain ol' stupid, 3 year old humor (Ex: Gargamel has to jump from the Eiffel tower to the smurf portal but the portal is too small so he falls like slapshit style), Brendan Gleeson and Hank Azaria (as much as I appreciate the TALENT!!!!!!!!!!!) are WASTED!!!!!!!!! There characters are so
dumb and stupid, fart jokes.
Look let me get to the point, this movie is humorless and dumb. It should be barried underground and forgotten. The Smurfs is an amazing comic book and cartoon, but the movie series never satisfies. Hopefully they won't do part 3.
