When I started to watch this film, I immediately thought myself. This is gonna be a girls film. Well, sort of.
The movie has a very interesting story that appeals to both sexes. A pseudo horror movie and a romance tossed in. The story is very easy to follow. A girl who can see shadowhunters. They hunt demons and kill them. I like the term for humans, Mundanes.
This movie reminds me a lot of TWILIGHT. Twilight is the worst movie series ever in my opinion. And at one point, There is the love triangle like twilight. TWILIGHT : Bella loves Edward and Jacob loves Bella. But this movie reminds me of that. Jace loves Clara and Simon loves Clara and Alec (Kevin Zegers) is GAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!
Anyways did I like this movie. Yeah, it's not good but it's not bad either. It's enjoyable. If you're in a relationship and you want to bring your girlfriend, this is the movie. Because you won't get bored. The action scenes are entertaining and epic. The movie creeps me out a bit when a demon is inside the body and then it rips the body. The dog demon is pretty terrifying also.
What I didn't like is the romance triangle. It feels so twilight ish to me. And also the movie stretches out and it's too long (130 minutes). Like RED 2, there are too many twists and TV-ish cliffhangers.
Overall, it's an enjoyable movie that's not bad but not good
