Pitch Black review

Now, let's tackle the RIDDICK series. Funny thing, when it came out it was called Pitch Black and then, on the DVD, it's called The Chroincles of RIDDICK Pitch Black?

Anyways, Pitch Black has an Extremely low budget and it shows.  Director David Thwoy isn't covering up that low budget. Low budget also means low budget music. The score is blood to my ears.
Did it stop me from liking this movie? Absolutely not! The movie is a lot of fun. It's got everything that a good sci-fi horror movie needs to have, Jump scare, very LIMITED sci-fi action, horror action!

PROS: Scary, Has some cool action scenes, Gritty atmosphere that actually FITS with the extremely low budget, Great horror action, great opening, keeps you on the edge of your seat!

CONS: Low budget, awful music, that Kenneth Branagh signature camera shot (you know, it kinda turns)

There is actually a stand out performance and it's VIN DIESEL as Riddick! The guy just KILLS IT as Riddick, he's dark, funny (morbidly it's everything you want from him)

ALSO: Lewis Fitz-Gerald as Paris is another shoutout. Vin Diesel was better than him but it came into a tight 2nd. He was the humorous guy in the round.

Overall, it's a movie sci-fi horror fan will enjoy if you're looking for jump scares

4/5
