Film Editorial: A Look At Dustin Putman.

For those of you who don't know, Dustin Putman is an online film critic that has been reviewing since, I believe, 1997. Not only is he an incredible writer and critic, he has become a major inspiration for myself.

Dustin Putman grades films like how I do, The 4-Star scale. When you visit his website, dustinputman.com you come across the home page.

You get some new reviews of films that are opening that current week, on the right, you have reviews that have been recently written. On the right, You get a handful of features, New Blu-Ray releases and you can search for reviews by Letter, Year, or Grade.
This is what one of his reviews looks like.

He rights with an excellent precision and is extremely funny. Take a look at his quote from his review from Disaster Movie(2008)

"About forty minutes into "Disaster Movie," shortly after Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus (Crista Flanagan) got hit by a meteor but still before the scene where Disney princess Giselle (Nicole Parker) transformed into a buff black man and "turned this shit out" in a "Step Up 2 the Streets" parody, an epiphany hit me: I, like all living things on this earth, will one day die. Usually thoughts of this nature rustle up unsettling feelings of fear and maybe a little critical self-reflection in a person, myself included. For the first time, however, the mere thought of imminent death seemed like a sweet, luxurious respite in comparison to the untold-in-number miseries being endured in that theater. Suddenly I was transformed, no longer afraid of my ultimate fate. For that (and only that), "Disaster Movie" deserves my gratitude."

Most of the time I agree with his opinions, I highly disagree with his opinion of Pitch Perfect, He gave it 3 stars I gave it 1/2 a Star. But if you disagree with a critic you shouldn't hate them. His favorite film of all time is 1978's Halloween which is an excellent choice.
I have actually spoken to Dustin and he is extremely nice and a master of horror films. At the time of writing this, he has published a book called The Fright File, which I have asked for christmas. Please vist his site. He is one critic not to be missed.
