31 Days of Horror: Frankenstein (1931) DAY TWO.
IT'S ALIVE, IT'S ALIVE! What can I say about Frankenstein that hasn't already been said, it's a Horror classic in the truest sense of the word. The plot revolves around a mad scientist named Henry Frankenstein who, by using various corpses, hopes to create life. His experiment goes wrong when his useless sidekick steals a brain labelled "Abnormal" from a biology lecture and Frankenstein's Monster is born!
Frankenstein's Monster is portrayed wonderfully by Boris Karloff who brings the character to life (pardon the pun). For me, this is a great predecessor to slasher films of the late 70's and 80's which were filled with bumbling silent killers. The film certainly seems cheesy by today's standards, this got me thinking how people of the thirties might react to a films like "Saw".
3/5, dated; but still good fun.
