Evil Dead 2, what can I say? Again, another re-watch, but there's a reason for this. It's just an amazing slapstick Horror film!
The plot is essentially just a retelling of the first film, however, this time the comedic levels are through the roof! The story follows Ash, who is portrayed by the amazing Bruce Campbell, who decides to take his love interest on a getaway to a remote cabin somewhere in the woods. Upon arriving at the secluded cabin Ash discovers an old tape deck and after instruction from his girlfriends; plays the tape inside. An explorer begins reading out a curse which brings evil to whoever reads it, of course Ash and his girlfriend are on the receiving end of this. Ash's girlfriend soon becomes cursed and tries to kill Ash, who of course kills her first. He is soon joined by the daughter of the explorer on the tape, she is looking for both her parents, who are now missing. This is where the hilarity ensues; bearing in mind the curse is in full force still.
This is perhaps one of the funniest Horror films made to date and also one of the most blood soaked, the gore is absolutely fantastic, it is so over the top only laughs can be had. Bruce Campbell, as always, is brilliant. See this film!
